Lola Loves: Holiday Gift Guide

This month, we’re kicking up Lola Loves a notch (our monthly breakdown of home goods and products). The holiday season is here, and with it, the tradition of gift-giving. We’ve rounded up a few of this year’s favorite finds by gift recipient below!

HIS// Shinola Detroit Planner & Notebooks: Shinola produces high quality, handcrafted goods – like watches, bicycles, stationery, and more – out of their Detroit factories. Their goal is to revive American industry in a city that once served as the center of it. These particular planners and notebooks are part of Shinola‘s collaboration with Matt Lauer and the Today’s Original campaign. Sales from the collection benefit the Detroit Children’s Fund (DCF), specifically the Detroit Edison Public School Academy that “provides outstanding learning opportunities for children in Detroit, ensuring success through both high school and college.” We love that such a well-crafted item will pour into Detroit’s next generation.

HIS// Y’allsome Cross Hat: We share a passion for foster kids with Southern brand, Y’allsome. Founders Craig and Megan Evans both grew up in the South, but their careers took them to New York and LA. They started Y’allsome out of their garage, creating Southern-made, Southern-themed shirtshatsprints, and more in homage to the region they missed the most. Our favorite part: 15% of all profits benefit Adoption Discovery and Heart Galleries who do their part in creating stability and placement for Southern foster kids.

HERS// Mark & Graham Leather Tassel KeychainMark & Graham is your one-stop shop for chic, personalized items. We’ve been a little bit tassel-obsessed this year (okay, a lot obsessed), so we love this unique personalized keychain that comes in a ton of colors!

HERS// Moon & Lola xx Emily McCarthy Cutout Metal Interlocking Necklace: We love Emily McCarthy‘s modern take on the monogram – and we love Moon & Lola‘s unique selection of personalized accessories. Put their expertise together, and you get their gorgeous new collaboration! This gold-filled necklace is a unique, beautiful gift that will be in style forever.

HERS// Globe In Foldover Clutch: In search of fair trade gifts that benefit small artisans worldwide? Globe In – an online resource for these global goods – is your answer! This updated classic clutch is made in India by a small shop of 15 artisans called Seen Unseen. Globe In also curates themed gift boxes, taking out all the work for you!

HOME// Globe In Turkish Kitchen Towel and Spice Bowl: Globe In also has great home and hostess gift ideas! We frequently purchase Turkish towels for our projects (and our own home) like this one; they’re 100% cotton, absorb water faster than a regular towel, dry quickly, and folds up small. We also love that Globe In’s Turkish towels are woven by a Turkish woman who supports her whole family through the sales of these beautiful towels! We’re also loving their selection of wooden items, like these salad grabbers and this small spice bowl, which are hand carved in India.

PETS// The Friendship Collar: Pets are part of the family; they’re our best friends! So, tell the world how much you love them with a Friendship Collar – a high-quality collar that comes with a matching friendship bracelet. Why didn’t we think of this sooner?!

PETS// Serena & Lily Riviera Pet Bed: We used Serena & Lily’s Riviera dining furniture in countless projects this year. Imagine our delight when we discovered they took this current, but classic line of rattan and woven plastic items “to the dogs”! Add a blue and white buffalo check cushion, and they’ve made a fan out of us for life.

KIDS// Pottery Barn Kids Chelsea All-In-1 Kitchen: This play kitchen looks better than a lot of real ones, complete with an apron sink and brass-colored fixtures and hardware! And, if that couldn’t be cute enough, they made an exact replica of the Chelsea kitchen in doll-size. Pottery Barn, you’ve done it again! (And, if gray or pink won’t do, the Charlie kitchen comes in a wood stain. Too cute!)

KIDS// Bookroo Subscription: Toys are great, but books are better! Reading with kiddos is an awesome way to bond while stimulating their mind and fostering their imagination. Bookroo is an awesome subscription service that sends either two picture books or three board books (based on your preference) curated for your child’s age each month. It’s a gift that keeps on giving throughout the year and gets kids excited about reading.

We hope these ideas help cross a few names off your list! Have any other items we should know about? Comment below. And, from our Lola family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
